Okay, I talked with Leah last night on AIM & was a happy mom! I was so proud of myself that once I got past the first day, I was FINE! But after talking with her, my heart was in tears. You know, the happy but please be safe kind. She sent us all kinds of fun pics.Leah in Hong Kong.

Okay, Angie, don't look at this picture. You'll be running over to the Philippines. These are street beggars. There are kids ages 2 & up who are homeless (live in cardboard boxes). They can't be adopted unless you're Catholic. Go figure. This completely tore at my heart strings. My favorite pic is of Leah looking out the window at them. She loves kids so much. When we talked earlier the kids were the first thing she talked about. Oh my......she's her mother's daughter.
The dancers in the Philippines.
Okay, candy crabs. (Leah is very hungry Maren! She found a Pizza Hut after not eating for 1 1/2 days!)
The sunset
One can be sure my daughter would find a place to get her nails done. Is my daughter a hoot or what?

Wow, what great pictures!!!
Oh my, I'd SO be eating the local cuisine! Even those whatever they were crabs! I'm glad she found Pizza though.
When Barry and I were on our honeymoon in Switzerland, being my first time in a foreign country, I got a little "stubborn" with my food choices and refused to try Swiss food (okay, REALLY, how bad can Swiss food be, compared to Filipino?) and now, I regret only eating McDonald's! I would sooooo love to go back and try out all the little restaurants found in the tiny cobblestone alleys of Zurich!
Leah, be safe, and HAVE FUN!!!
Don't you wish you were Catholic just long enough to adopt some of those precious children?! (Of course, then be LDS again and raise those babies in the gospel!)
I'm always in tear after watching news shows about street children, and wish I could fly to that country and bring them all home with me!
Keep having a great time, Leah!
leah,
What a great story you'll have to share one day with your own children. It's amazing how we here in america take the little things for granted. When I was in the North part of South Korea I got a real taste of third world country life. The children always tear your heart into pieces. Just remember that our Heavenly is mondful of them and the part in third nephi when Christ blesses the children and then weeps lets us all know how precious these little ones are.
Oh you really need to try the food. emersing yourself in the culture is so much fun. I still do not like kimchi(korean rotten cabbage!).
Take care, Jessica
